1. WHAT IS SHARE A DRIVE
SHARE A DRIVE is a company which optimizes all forms of road transport, thereby benefiting the members and the Environment. It connects members to share their Car/ Bike/ Hired Car/ Call taxis, etc.,
2. WHO CAN BECOME A MEMBER OF SHARE A DRIVE
Anyone above 18 years can become a member of SHARE A DRIVE
3. DO I HAVE TO OWN A VEHICLE TO BECOME A MEMBER
NO. You DON’T have to own a vehicle to become a member. |

4. HOW MUCH IS THE MEMBERSHIP CHARGE
Rs.100/- is the Annual Membership Charge. The membership is valid for a period of one year from the date of joining.
5. HOW IS IT BENEFICIAL TO A CAR VEHICLE OWNER
A Car owner benefits enormously by this. Every time he/she gives a lift to a member he/she gets paid Rs.3/- per Km.
Members traveling on identical daily office route and time will be connected by us.
Ideally every Car Owner has space for 3 Members in their Car.
The Car Owner gets paid Rs.3/- per Km for accommodating one member.
A 10 Km distance ( Home to Office ) works out the following:
Every Non Vehicle Owner travels to the office paying Rs.30/- one way. Therefore a Non Vehicle Owner traveling both in the morning and in the evening travels this distance paying Rs.1320 per month (22 days)
A Car Owner accommodating 3 members both ways gets Rs.3960 per month ( 22 days )
- Every owner gets to choose their members. Like wise every Non Vehicle Owner gets to choose the Car Owner. We provide members with choices. The members only decide who to travel with.
- This monthly arrangement would not restrict either the Vehicle Owner or the Non Vehicle Owner. Emergency demands like extended working hours/ travel outstation/ illness. Etc can be handled by providing an alternate vehicle. Needless to say prior information is only required. The payment also will be worked out accordingly
6. HOW IS IT BENEFICIAL TO A BIKE VEHICLE OWNER
A bike owner gets paid Rs.1 /- per Km for giving lift to a member.
A bike owner can easily spot a potential lift seeker by the SHARE A DRIVE Cap the member is wearing. The members can verify the details themselves ( ID card ) and/or call our call centers too.
Members can also get connected through us.
7. HOW IS IT BENEFICIAL TO A NON-VEHICLE OWNER
Non Vehicle Owners undergo tremendous difficulties everyday just to reach the office.
Becoming a member of Share a Drive gives them the opportunity of getting an easy Motorcycle ride.
A Non-Vehicle Owner travels in an A/C Car at the rate of Rs.3 per km.
A Non-Vehicle Owner travels in a Bike at the rate of Rs.1 per km.
A Non-Vehicle Owner travels in Our Own CAB for all their local travels and out station travels.
8. HOW IS THE MONEY PAID TO THE VEHICLE OWNER
The money is directly paid to the vehicle owners by the non-vehicle owners.
9. HOW IS IT BENEFICIAL IF I HIRE A CALL TAXI/ CAB TO THE AIRPORT/RAILWAY STATION
When you hire a Call Taxi to the Airport / Railway station and inform us we should be able to connect you with other members in your locality who are going to the same place. The same is possible when you return home from Airport/ Railway stations.
By doing this you could split the amount payable to the Call Taxi between yourselves.
10. IS IT BENEFICIAL WHEN I GO TO OTHER CITIES
Yes, it would be definitely beneficial in other cities too shortly. Though we have launched the services in Chennai, we plan to extend our services through out the Country including small towns, shortly.
11. HOW IS IT BENEFICIAL IF I HIRE A CAB TO GO OUT OF STATION
When you hire a Cab to go out of station we could connect you with other members going to the same destination if you have space in your car.
In case you are going only one way and have to get dropped we could connect you with members coming from there to the place where you hired the Cab, thereby sharing your cost. This is particularly useful since the Cab providers demand To and Fro charges.
12. HOW IS IT BENEFICIAL IF I DRIVE MY PERSONAL CAR OUT OF STATION
We could connect you with prospective members who want to travel the same destination.
13. HOW IS IT USEFUL WHEN I VISIT HILL STATIONS LIKE OOTY,MUNNAR,KODAIKANAL..
14. HOW SAFE IS A SHARE A DRIVE
Safety is our prime concern. All members are screened thoroughly and only then issued a membership card.
15. CAN WE BOOK A CAB/TAXI THROUGH SHARE A DRIVE
Yes, SHARE A DRIVE has its own CAB services, which is available for both local and outstation travels.
16. WHO CAN AVAIL THE SERVICES OF SHARE A DRIVE
The above mentioned services are available only to MEMBERS of SHARE A DRIVE.
17. WHY SHOULD I JOIN SHARE A DRIVE
By joining SHARE A DRIVE, you not only benefit yourself but benefit our precious ENVIORNMENT.
REMEMBER THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE FOR US TO LIVE.
Do's and Dont’s;
Applicable for all Travels for SHARE A DRIVE Members.
Do's-
- Insist on seeing the identity card, and see whether the photo matches with his face, before you share the drive/ ride and if you have doubts please call us and we will verify and alert you accordingly.
- Before you undertake the two-wheeler ,four-wheeler, cab ride/drive, insist on calling the person who is taking a ride/drive with you, and make him answer the call. This is purely an exercise of abundant caution only - in case of an untoward incident happening we could trace them from the calls made to your phone.
- Please collect the prescribed fare as suggested by share drive.
- Do insist on maintaining the prescribed speed limit as desired by law.
- Always wear a helmet while sharing a ride and also ask the pillion to carry one if he wants to use the services.
Dont’s-
- Please do not share your personal information with the people you are sharing a ride/drive with you, like your address, place of work, family details, etc,/p>
- SHARE A DRIVE will not be liable for any untoward incident arising out of these services.
